What is a diverter and why do you need one

The Downpipe Diverter is what connects your water butt to your downpipe. You will need this to install your water butt & start saving rainwater that falls on your roof. If maximum water level has been reached, the excess rainwater will be drained via the downspout, preventing the water butt from overflowing.
